I came to work at Byron Center Manor by crossing paths with an employee and having a conversation about how nice it is to work here. She mentioned a new position that was being created and it sounded like a perfect fit. I applied and interviewed and now here I am! 🙂
I enjoy interacting with people and assisting others. I am fulfilled by the people I work with and the residents I get to interact with daily.
My background is in education starting as a speech, language and hearing therapist to elementary classroom for the rest of my teaching career in Jenison Public Schools. Next, I worked as an academic advisor to the MBA students at Davenport University. Then I switched back to elementary education with a position selling a writing program for K-5th grades across the nation. It was a superb writing program and fun to meet so many educators from around our country.
I have been married for 38 years. His name is Bryan Wilson, but he never played with the Beach Boys. We have two grown children, a son, Brady, and a daughter, Whitney. They are both married and work in law enforcement jobs. We have three precious little grandchildren that make our lives so fun! I grew up in Grandville, worked in Jenison, and now live in Byron Center — all wonderful West Michigan communities!
I have many interests and they keep changing as I go through life. I am a lifetime learner and love trying new things and going to new places. There’s nothing like a good book. I love being outside and doing outdoor activities. I love to decorate, and I love my kids and grandkids! Life is good 🙂
