Which Is Right For You?
Independent Living
Independent Living may be right for you (or your loved one) if the resident:
- Can manage their own medications
- Is independent in the community, which means they can find their way around and not wander into other residents’ rooms or get lost on campus
- Is able to take care of their daily trash
- Can make their own bed
- Can clean up minor spills in their room
- Can handle all of their personal cares
If the resident is not able to complete all of the objectives, they would be a candidate for the next level of care: Assisted Living
Assisted Living
Assisted Living may be right for you (or your loved one) if the resident:
- Requires no more than one person to assist with transfers and personal cares
- Is able to find and recognize their room
- Does not wander into other residents’ rooms or away from the premises if not independent in the community
- Is able to occupy their downtime without need of direction
- Is able to understand the call light system
If the resident is not able to complete all of the objectives, they may be a candidate for the next level of care: Memory Care.
Memory Care
